This hits so hard. I literally only rest when I have paid someone to hold space for my relaxation - massages, acupuncture…and I can barely think of a relaxing activity that isn’t also somehow productive - yard work, hiking, cleaning…. These are such a weird symptoms of the hustle culture detox!

Can absolutely understand both the paying for relaxation as well as your view on other relaxing activities, a.k.a. socially-acceptable forms of 'rest' that are basically still effortful. Thank you for sharing that perspective. Super helpful! On that note, off to read a bit of fiction in the tub 🤓
